Justice in 21st-Century Fairy Tales and the Power of Wonder
Cristina Bacchilega and Pauline Greenhill
Tuesday 4 November 2025, 7–8 p.m., online (Teams)

Join Cristina Bacchilega and Pauline Greenhill for a thought-provoking discussion following the publication of their open-access book Justice in 21st-Century Fairy Tales and the Power of Wonder (Bloomsbury, https://tinyurl.com/justicewonder). The book explores how contemporary fairy tales across film, TV, graphic novels, and picture books are put to work for justice in the areas of environment and ecology, kinship and family, ability and disability, and sex and gender. The talk will examine the power of wonder within and beyond fairy tales and briefly present two case studies.

Free and open to all.
